Terms and Conditions Ackermans Campaign: “Netball World Cup experience” Competition 

Terms and Conditions

  1. The competition is run by Telkom SA SOC Ltd (“Telkom”) (Registration Number 1991/005476/30), a listed company duly incorporated in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, with its registered address at Telkom Park, the Hub, 61 Oak Avenue, Techno Park Highveld Centurion, Pretoria(“Telkom”) including its affiliates, partners, associations and agents. (“the Organiser”)
  2. The promoter of this competition is Telkom SA SOC Limited and Ackermans, a division of Pepkor Trading (Pty) Ltd ("the Promoters").
  3. The name of the competition is “Netball World Cup experience” ("the Competition").
  4. The competition will run from 1 May 2023 until 30 June 2023 (both days included) only in Ackermans stores ("the Competition Period").
  5. By entering the Competition and/or accepting any prize (if you are a winner), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  6. The Competition is open to all participants within the Republic of South Africa with a valid South African ID document and aged eighteen (18) years or older. You are not eligible to participate in this competition if: -
    • you are a director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of Ackermans Stores, or Telkom and/or its affiliates/divisions/subsidiaries or any other person who supplies goods or services in connection with the competition;-
    • you are a spouse, life partner, parent, child or sibling, immediate family member, business partner or associate of the persons specified above.
    • Telkom employees and its subsidiaries and/or, employees and their immediate families as well as Telkom’s advertising and promotion agencies, distribution partners, associated companies, and outlet owners, dealers, resellers and their immediate families and employees are excluded from participating in this competition
  7. To enter the competition, a Participant must:
    • Buy / purchase any of the following smartphones bundled with LTE 20 bundle, and Recharge with R30 or more airtime or data at any Ackermans stores.
      • ITEL P38
      • Mobicel VX19
      • Samsung Galaxy A04
      • Samsung Galaxy A14
      • ITEL Vision 5
      • ITEL A14 Pro
    • the Telkom SIM card must then be RICA'd and inserted in the purchased device and recharged with a R30 or more airtime or data voucher within a week of purchase to qualify for an entry into the Competition. Only once the device is recharged with a R30 or more airtime or data voucher will the customer receive the automatic entry into the Competition.
    • Once the new Telkom SIM card and any of the selected devices mentioned above is connected and loaded with the R30 or more airtime or data voucher will the customer receive an automatic SMS sent to the phone confirming the automatic entry; and
    • keep their till slip as proof of the purchase made in 7.1 above to enter the Competition.
  8. Participants stand a chance to win one (1) of three (3) Netball World Cup experiences up the value of R20 000.00 to the Netball World Cup final on 6 August 2023 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) (“the Prize”).
  9. The Prize will include:
    • a set of two tickets to the Netball World Cup final.
    • one night's accommodation, prior to the final game for the winner and the person that will accompany them; and
    • where required, return economy class flights for the winner and the person that will accompany them.
      (Please note that any additional night's accommodation will be for the winners' own account. Winners need to arrange their own transport from the airport for themselves and the person accompanying them. Ackermans and Telkom will not be held responsible if you miss your flight to and/or from the game. Those costs will be for your own account.)
  10. The Prize is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  11. The value of each Netball World Cup experience is up to R20 000.00 as the costs will be determined by factors such as including but not limited to flight costs, where the winners may need to be, transported to and from the venue from their accommodation, etc.
  12. The accommodation provided for the winners, will be based on availability from the travel agency appointed by the Promoters and will be a 3-star hotel with full breakfast only. No lunch and supper will be provided.
  13. The lunch on the day of the final netball match, is not part of a suite experience. Lunch will take place at a designated restaurant prior to the start of the match.
  14. Should the winner of the prize live close to or in Cape Town as the host city (i.e., within a radius of 300km from the venue of the final), where the game will be played, no accommodation will be provided. These winners will only qualify for the tickets to the final match of the Netball World Cup, the lunch at the designated restaurant and shuttle transport to and from the designated pick up point
  15. The winner of the Prize living in the host city, will be required to meet at the designated pick up point to board a shuttle that will take them to the venue on the date of the final.
  16. Should a winner as described above, he/she will also not qualify for any additional funds to the value of the Prize.
  17. Winners, living further than a radius of 300 km from the host city match venue (CTICC) where the final match will be played, will be shuttled from and to the airport in Cape Town as well as to the final match venue. Such winners will need to arrange their own transport to and from the airport they will fly to Cape Town, which is not part of the Prize.
  18. Winners will be randomly selected by the Promoters from all valid entries received. The results will be audited by an independent auditor appointed by the Promoters.
  19. The results of the draw are final, and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
  20. Winners will be notified telephonically on the valid contact number used to enter the Competition. An alternative winner will be drawn if after 3 attempted telephone calls the Promoters cannot contact the initial winner.
  21. Winners will be requested to share the following details: Name and surname, contact number, store till slip, ID number.
  22. The Promoters and their delivery agent do not accept responsibility or liability for any loss or damage and will also not be responsible or liable for any further expenses or fees required for purpose of using, applying or enjoying the prize won in this competition.
  23. Winners give Ackermans and Telkom its authorised agents consent to use their names for publicity purposes, unless they decline.
  24. Ackermans and Telkom reserves the right to vary, suspend, postpone or terminate the competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, for any reasons whatsoever and without notice. In such event, you hereby waive any rights or expectations which you may have against Ackermans and Telkom and acknowledge that you will not have any recourse or claim of any nature against Ackermans and Telkom.
  25. Your privacy is very important to Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies (https://www.pepkor.co.za/retail-segments/) and it will use all reasonable efforts in order to ensure that any information, including personal information, provided by you, or which is collected from you, is stored in a secure manner. For more information, please refer to the detailed version of our Privacy Statement.
  26. You agree to provide Pepkor with accurate and current information and to maintain and update such information when necessary. The information collected by Pepkor may be used to send you information about products, services, and special offers of the various companies in the Pepkor group that may be of interest or value to you. The information may also be processed by Ackermans and other companies in the Pepkor group, any of their operators, agents, and sub-contractors (who may be outside South Africa) on the condition that they will keep such information confidential.
  27. You acknowledge that any information supplied to Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies in terms of these Terms and Conditions is provided voluntarily.
  28. By submitting any information to Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies in any form you further acknowledge that such conduct constitutes an unconditional, specific and voluntary consent to the processing of such information by Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies under any applicable law in the manner contemplated above, which consent shall, in the absence of any written objection received from you, be indefinite and/or for the period otherwise required in terms of any applicable law.
  29. Unless you have consented, Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies will not sell, exchange, transfer, rent or otherwise make available any personal information about you (such as name, address, email address, telephone, or fax number) to other parties and you indemnify Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies from any unintentional disclosures of such information to unauthorized persons.
  30. Should you believe that Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies has utilised your personal information contrary to applicable law, you shall first resolve any concerns with Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies. If you are not satisfied with such a process, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
  31. You can choose to be excluded from direct marketing by notifying Ackermans in writing or by registering a block on any registry which Ackermans is bound by law to recognise. Ackermans will not charge you a fee to update this request on its systems. Ackermans will give effect to any changes requested by you as soon as reasonably possible.
